How to use the tweet template

1. Start from the blank template. The editor opens with a grey placeholder photo, a placeholder name and handle, an empty text box, no badge and zero counts.
2. Fill in what you need. Type the post in the text box, change the name and @handle, and add a profile photo, an image, a badge, a date or counts. Leave anything blank that you want to fill in later.
3. Pick a theme and download. Choose Light, Dim or Dark, then select Export PNG. The template downloads as tweet-template.png at 3× resolution, with no watermark.

A Twitter post template for school, slides and social

A blank Twitter post template is useful whenever you need the shape of a tweet without a real one. Teachers use it for “write a tweet as a historical figure” assignments, students for book and history projects, marketers to draft a post before it goes live, and designers for app and presentation mockups. Because the template follows the current X post layout, it reads as a tweet at a glance.

The Twitter text box and everything around it

The text box takes as much as you want to write, keeps your line breaks, and turns @mentions, #hashtags and links blue the way X does. Around it you can set the display name and @handle, a blue or gold check, the post date and time, one attached image, and counts for replies, reposts, likes and views. Large numbers are shortened the way X shows them, so 12,400 becomes 12.4K.

Light, dim and dark tweet templates

The template comes in X's three themes. Use Light for printed worksheets and documents, and Dim or Dark for slides and videos with a dark background. Switch themes at any time; your text and images stay as they are.

More than a single post

For a template with replies underneath, use the reply chain generator. To fill in a full fictional post with sample text, start from the fake tweet maker. If you share a filled-in template online, label it as a mockup and don't present it as something a real person posted.
